Postdoctoral Fellowship Program

The Clinical Health Psychology Postdoctoral Residency Program at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System (VACHS) - West Haven is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association. As of May 2007, our program was rated as 1 of the 5 currently APA-accredited postdoctoral training programs with a recognized Substantive Specialty Practice Area in Clinical Health Psychology in the country. Our next accreditation site visit will be in 2012.

Postdoctoral Residency Program in Psychosocial Rehabilitation

The VA Connecticut Healthcare System (VACHS) offers the Interprofessional Residency Training Program in Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR), a therapeutic approach that encourages individuals with severe mental illnesses (SMI) to develop his or her fullest capacities through learning and environmental supports.

Special Fellowship in Advanced Psychiatry and Psychology

The VA Office of Academic Affiliations is offering the VA Advanced Fellowship Program in Psychiatry and Psychology at ten VA MIRECC sites — West Haven, Baltimore, Denver, Durham, Philadelphia, Bronx, Houston, Seattle, Palo Alto, and San Diego — participate in the program. Each year, one psychiatry fellow and one psychology fellow are accepted at each site. The VISN 21 MIRECC serves as the national coordinating center for the program.
