VA Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center

Internship Program

The predoctoral internship at the VA Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center and Nursing Home is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association. The next site visit will be during the academic year 2016.

The VA Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center Psychology Training Program offers APA-accredited internships to U.S. citizens who are pursuing a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited institution. The training program is funded to support six full-time internship positions. To be considered, students must demonstrate completion of at least three years of graduate course work and a minimum of 400 direct contact hours in intervention and 100 hours in assessment by the start of internship. Applicants must be certified as ready for internship by their Director of Training.

Postdoctoral Fellowship Program

The postdoctoral fellowship at the VA Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center is not currently accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association. An application for APA accreditation is in process.

The Psychology Department currently has one postdoctoral fellowship position in PTSD/SUD.  We are seeking fellowship applicants with strong skills in intervention, assessment, consultation, program development, and program evaluation activities, with specific interests and training in the treatment of trauma and substance use disorders.  Our selection criteria focus on background training, clinical experience, and the perceived fit between the applicant’s goals and the objectives of the training program.
